August 8, 2008 is a very special day for the Chinese people because 8 is a lucky number, which symbolizes wealth. It is the first day of the opening ceremony for the Summer 2008 Olympics held in Beijing, China. This event probably happens once in our lifetime, and it is no coincidence at all.

I bought Alibaba because of the following reasons:
Yahoo owns 40% of Alibaba. (Link)
It has recently fallen from its highs (~$40).
Biggest B2B business in China – “The Chinese eBay”.
HSBC appoints CEO of Alibaba David Wei as non-executive director. (Link)
28 and 1688 are good numbers. =)
